"A couple spends a romantic afternoon in a distant town, and their relationship changes completely. Does this sound like a familiar plot? Maybe it's because 'Mi primer amor eterno' recycles what we've already seen in Roberto Rossellini's iconic 'Journey to Italy', Richard Linklater's 'Before Sunrise' (and its two sequels), and the more recent 'Frankie' by Ira Sachs. However, here all that charm is replaced by exotic clichés and a couple that seems to have more antipathy than chemistry between them, although for lovers of romances set in beautiful foreign landscapes, it might be a good option."
