Why watch the movie Mighty Ira?
"At what point can freedom of expression be a threat to civil liberties? When does censorship become intolerance or repression? All these exist side by side, separated by very thin lines that can cross over, and Ira Glasser's trajectory as a civil rights defender illustrates this as well as few other things. The documentary 'Mighty Ira' is an account of his career as the leader of the American Civil Liberties Union, where he defended the rights of his fellow citizens before the law impartially, even the rights of neo-Nazi protesters - despite the protests of Jewish survivors -. A controversial figure whose path raises equally provocative questions."
