"It was with a tiny budget of only $15,000 that filmmaker Oren Peli and producer Blumhouse gave birth to one of the most well-known horror franchises in cinema: 'Paranormal Activity'. After all, the idea was to reproduce images from security cameras, in simple and natural settings, to show the presence of spirits and hauntings in a family's house. The result is terrifying, with some of the most impactful scares in recent cinema -- albeit somewhat formulaic at times. Oh, and one more thing: with the initial $15,000 investment, the producer earned almost $200,000."
