Why watch the movie De Perto Ela Não é Normal?
"One of the biggest box office hits in Brazilian cinema are comedies, usually with a foot in besteirol. Stars like Leandro Hassum and Paulo Gustavo have gained space and, of course, a captive audience. And one of the main names behind this wave of humor is director Cininha de Paula, of titles like 'Crô em Família', 'Duas de Mim' and 'De Perto Ela Não é Normal'. The latter, starring Suzana Pires ('Loucas pra Casar') follows the script of the other films by the filmmaker: many absurd scenes, a sometimes non-sense humor and a typical humor for TV sketches, totally outrageous. Although it has some moments of embarrassment, like the moments when Suzana also plays an aunt of the protagonist, the feature film finds some gaps to entertain with the story of a woman seeking her independence - always current theme and that resonates easily around. It will not please everyone, that's for sure. But it may amuse those who are already open to Cininha de Paula's humor and enjoy this humor of Brazilian cinema."
