The Smurfs team up with their human friends to rescue Smurfette, who has been abducted by Gargamel, since she knows a secret spell that can turn the evil sorcerer's newest creation, creatures called "The Naughties", into real Smurfs.

In The Smurfs 2, the story is a bit cliché and repetitive - almost a blatant copy of the first movie. However, with the charisma of the creatures and some good challenges on the Smurfs' journey, the film remains exciting and attractive to the little ones. Only the older ones, perhaps excited by the comics and cartoons of the 1980s, may find a bit of sameness in the story, quickly straying away from it."
