The Collini Case

""The Collini Case" is a German courtroom drama that breaks the mold, even though director Marco Kreuzpaintner ("Beat") relies on various genre tropes to be heard beyond Bavaria. Here, more than just following the trial of a supposed murderer, the viewer is invited to enter the ruins of war that remain alive even decades later. This feeling, which reminds us a lot of the excellent "Secret Memories", ends up causing two emotions while we watch the feature film. Firstly, the interest and excitement with the courtroom drama, which is never exaggerated. On the other hand, reflection on how conflicts and, in this case, World War II remain ingrained in the lives of people directly or indirectly affected. Without a doubt, a story about justice that, above all else, excites with the courtroom drama and finds ways to make us reflect on the past, present and future."
