Inspired by classic film noir, Carson Phillips, an ex-football star turned PI, has a soft spot for a lady in distress.
"Gone are the days when a movie starring John Travolta ('Pulp Fiction') and Morgan Freeman ('Seven') was sure to be good entertainment. 'The Poison Rose' brings together these two stars, plus Brendan Fraser ('The Mummy'), and yet still delivers mediocre - if not really embarrassing - results. Here we find a noir-style thriller to accompany the journey of a traditional investigation, without any great moments. It's no wonder you can guess the conclusion of the story just by watching the trailer. Fans of challenging suspense will undoubtedly be frustrated. However, it is still interesting to see Travolta and Freeman together on the big screen. A duo with respected careers who, unfortunately, meet for the first time in this movie that is far below expectations. You can pass the time and have fun, nothing more than that."
