An engineer builds his own island nation, but the Italian Government declares him an enemy
Trailer
Why watch the movie Rose Island?
"Instead of "incredible," Netflix should have used the adjective "unbelievable" in the title of the good Italian comedy 'L'incredibile storia dell'isola delle rose'. Based on a true story, the production follows Giorgio's journey, an engineer who decides to build his own "island" in the middle of the ocean. And more: tired of the Italian government, he decides to build his own oasis outside of Italy's domain, declaring himself an independent state. With good moments, some well-fitted jokes and this unbelievable journey of a man in search of independence from a kind of oil platform, the viewer can learn a bit more about the political meanders that guide discussions outside of countries and the importance of keeping sovereign territories in 'L'incredibile storia dell'isola delle rose'. A bizarre story, which deserves to be known and remembered."
