A road movie exploring the genesis of Latin America through the intersection of cultures.
Trailer
Why watch the movie Portuñol?
"Latin America is a great mix of nationalities. This reflects both in the physical and cultural characteristics of the countries in this region as well as the languages spoken. In this documentary, director Thais Fernandes weaves an interesting reflection on the constant transformation of language. Analyzing the intersection between Brazil and its neighbors such as Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay and Bolivia, the filmmaker investigates the so-called national identity with the bias of the mix between Portuguese, Spanish and Guarani."

One hint, 6 chances, and a new movie to guess every day
The language that is born from the intersection of cultures, is a pretext to speak of the genesis of Latin America. A road movie that does not seek an answer on the way, but rather to break all possible certainties of what it means to exist at the edges of cultural definitions.
