A French Resistance fighter confronts her past and her brother's death in Nazi-occupied France.
Why watch the movie Colette?
"What a powerful, necessary, and painful film 'Colette' is, a short documentary produced by The Guardian. With an eye to the past and the need to remember it so we don't make the same mistakes, the documentary examines the story of Colette Marin-Catherine, a member of the French Resistance during World War II who lost her brother, killed in a concentration camp. Now, at 90 years old, we are invited to accompany this woman on her journey to the place where her brother was killed. It's sad, it's deep, it's painful. Difficult to digest. However, 'Colette' is one of those urgent films. After all, just as the titular protagonist passes her brother's ring to someone younger, the short film can also serve as a warning and a reminder, in the future, of what we have already experienced as a world. And, who knows, we won't repeat the same mistakes. The film is available on YouTube for free, with English subtitles."
