"Road movies (or road films, in good old Portuguese) are stories that follow personal transformations as the protagonist -- or protagonists, depending on the situation -- travels around. 'Then Came You', directed by Adriana Trigiani, brings this situation in an extremely emotional way: the protagonist travels the world with her husband's ashes, fulfilling a wish that the couple was unable to fulfill in life. It is a film that often appeals to exaggerated sentimentality, bordering on cheesy. But the director, most of the time, knows how to recover the tone of the production and move people. It is not a completely revolutionary or original film, but it knows how to touch each one's emotions."
