Then Came You tells the story of Skye, a spunky teenager with a terminal illness who befriends Calvin, a 19-year old hypochondriac who is afraid of his own shadow. Calvin helps Skye carry out her eccentric bucket list of things to do before she dies and, in the process, learns to confront and conquer his own fears; including falling in love with the beautiful, but seemingly untouchable, Izzy.

"It seems like the teen illness subgenre is something that won't go out of style in cinemas anytime soon. Since movies like 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower' and, especially, 'The Fault in Our Stars', we get three or four stories of this kind every year, at least. For 2021, one of the additions to this segment is 'Then Came You'. Starring Asa Butterfield ('Ender's Game') and Maisie Williams ('Game of Thrones'), the feature film tells the story of a hypochondriac baggage handler at an airport who must overcome his fears to help a British teenager fulfill her bucket list while dealing with a terminal illness. It's a movie full of clichés and stereotypes, never escaping the generic pool this subgenre has gotten itself into. However, Butterfield and Williams are great, exciting and moving the audience."
