"This is the first Pixar movie led by an all-female team, which already brings many women closer to the story. In 'Turning Red', Chinese director Domee Shi takes us back to the 2000s, with a fever of boy bands, virtual pets and a more real world, away from screens and social media interventions. Through the eyes of Meilin Lee, a 13-year-old girl inspired by the filmmaker's own childhood, we follow a journey of maturity. The character's life is quite normal, as long as she doesn't get nervous or anxious - in this case, Meilin turns into a giant red panda. 'Turning Red' is one of Pixar's successes: the movie is fun, exciting and very emotional, especially for talking about the relationship between mother and daughter."
