Why watch the movie The Longest Night?
"Gabriela Calvache's first feature-length fiction film, selected and nominated at festivals such as Guadalajara and São Paulo. La mala noche dives headfirst into the world of human trafficking and sexual exploitation in Latin America, following a woman who resorts to prostitution to support herself and her daughter, but must answer to a pimp. It is a sordid, harsh story of survival, but one that exudes rage from its theme through to its editing and imagery, an act of catharsis through vengeance that confronts fire with fire."
