"The Cellar (formerly known as The Stairway to Hell) is based on the short film The 10 Steps which was directed by the same director of the feature film, Brendan Muldowney, in 2004. It was highly acclaimed by critics and awarded at the Sitges Festival that same year. The story follows a woman who must uncover the truth behind her house after her daughter goes missing in the hands of a malicious entity. It is a movie that explores the supernatural but from a pagan culture perspective. Additionally, actress Elisha Cuthbert returns to the genre since her participation in the 2005 remake of House of Wax."
