A robotics engineer creates a lifelike doll that takes on a life of its own.
Trailer
Why watch this film?
A robotics engineer at a toy company builds a life-like doll that begins to take on a life of its own.
"Imagine a bizarre and somewhat scary mix of the killer doll Chucky and the artificial intelligence HAL 9000 from '2001: A Space Odyssey'. The result, without a doubt, will be something very close to the doll-title of 'M3gan', a horror from Blumhouse produced by James Wan ('Insidious', 'The Conjuring'). The movie, directed by Gerard Johnstone ('Housebound'), tells the story of a toy engineer (Allison Williams) who develops this strange and full of personality M3gan doll to make company for her niece (Violet McGraw) who suffers from the death of her parents in an accident. From there, in this mix of killer toys with horrendous artificial intelligences, we follow this relationship becoming increasingly toxic, in which a child simply does not know how to live without this realistic doll. Although there is a lack of personality in several moments of the story, which would certainly be more powerful if it were directed by Wan himself, 'M3gan' entertains, scares and shows that many horror stories, which could be banal, stand out when they are not taken seriously."
