Why watch the movie The Missing Picture?
"Cinema commands immense attention for any cause, any story. But what to do when something needs to be told, but there's hardly any images? Director Rithy Panh answers this question in an ingenious way - through stop motion - which doesn't take away from the impact of the revelations in his documentary about Cambodia's sorrowful history."

One hint, 6 chances, and a new movie to guess every day
From the time when the Khmer Rouge ruled over Cambodia between 1975 and 1979, the only recorded artifacts that remain are propaganda footage. Panh uses beautifully detailed sculpted clay figurines and elaborate dioramas to recreate the missing images from his memory. His recollections of his family and friends before and after the regime’s rule are poignantly told through a narrator’s poetic voice.
