This story follows Maurice, a goofy streetwise cat, who has the perfect money-making scam. He finds a dumb-looking kid who plays a pipe and has his very own horde of rats, who are strangely literate.
"A charming and fun British film, reminiscent of the style of 'Paddington' stories, 'The Amazing Maurice' is an old-fashioned fairy tale: a cat (Hugh Laurie from 'House'), a child (Himesh Patel) and a band of talking rats go from town to town committing small frauds - although the rats are also victims, believing in the grandiose story of the cat Maurice about going to some kind of animal paradise. However, everything becomes unexpectedly dangerous when they stop in a town with rat hunters who ruin this unlikely group's plan. Reminiscent of 'Puss in Boots 2', the movie guarantees fun for children, who will be enchanted by the sarcastic cat and these personality-filled rats, and for adults, who will leave the session with a good message about friendship, camaraderie and honesty."
