On the first day of high school, friends Mônica, Cebola, Magali, Cascão and Milena don’t take long to realize that things at school have been strange. When they discover that the Lemon Tree Museum will be auctioned, they decide to join in a mission to try to save it. As they investigate, they come across ancient and frightening secrets of the Limoeiro neighborhood and soon realize they may be dealing with a much bigger threat.
"After the success of Lições e Laços, Turma da Mônica returns to audiovisual in a project completely different from the previous one. The cast is no longer the same, Daniel Rezende leaves the direction and the basis of the stories is no longer the classic comic book. In Turma da Mônica Jovem: Reflexos do Medo, we follow the grown-up gang – Cebola no longer changes R for L, Mônica no longer hangs out with Sansão and so on. Directed by Maurício Eça, the story shows this group facing maturity while also coming face to face with a threat: Cabeça de Balde. In an inevitable comparison with the other two films, there is much less innocence and humanity here – which is also why the film is less moving. However, those looking for an adventure full of fantasy, with touches of horror and fantasy, may be rewarded by seeing the Gang on a new journey."
