"With young adult novels – and their respective film adaptations – like The Fault In Our Stars, John Green has been the undisputed master of moving teenagers and adults since the 2000s... and beyond. Turtles All The Way Down is the adaptation of his latest fiction novel, directed by Hannah Marks (Mark, Mary & Some Other People). The story follows Aza (Isabela Merced, Madame Web), who, in addition to dealing with typical high school teenager issues, must cope with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), which becomes debilitating when her thoughts fixate on the bacteria present everywhere in the world... and on herself. It’s a typical Green story: expect some melodramatic romance and tragedy, but grounded and never condescending. Marks’ direction is solid and Merced is phenomenal in the role."
