Late Night with the Devil

"Late Night with the Devil became one of the biggest horror movie sensations of 2024 -- and it’s no wonder. This feature film, backed by A24, cleverly creates a horror movie by playing with themes like possession and sensationalism, using only the setting of a TV show. In this case, specifically, the talk show of Jack Delroy (David Dastmalchian), a host going through a rough patch both personally and professionally. In just over 90 minutes, directors Cameron and Colin Cairnes play with form and content (though they don’t quite know how to unify them at the end) and enjoy challenging the audience’s senses, never letting them feel comfortable. It’s a horror movie that’s scary at times but more often causes discomfort and makes us think about the paths of sensationalism all around us."
