Why watch the movie La Bonga?
"La bonga is an emotional Colombian documentary, selected for film festivals like Guanajuato (Mexico), Costa Rica, and San Francisco. The documentary portrays the return of hundreds of people to the title town, now swallowed by the jungle, after they had to abandon it decades earlier due to threats of violence from paramilitary groups. It is a powerful cinematic exercise on collective memory to heal trauma, reconcile with the passage of time, and rebuild abandoned lives to move forward with courage."
