"A Dog’s Will 2 (O Auto da Compadecida 2) is another sequel that no one asked for, but it still attracts attention. After all, how would directors Guel Arraes and Flávia Lacerda create a new story without inspiration from Ariano Suassuna's texts? The feature film talks about the return of João Grilo after his death in the first film, being seen as a saint -- and as a voter in an election full of particularities. A lot of things don't work, especially when the fear of following the story in another direction hits, but the new characters help to pull the film up, especially Luis Miranda, Eduardo Sterblitch and Humberto Martins."
