Dolores Huerta is among the most important, yet least known, activists in American history. An equal partner in co-founding the first farm workers unions with Cesar Chavez, her enormous contributions have gone largely unrecognized. Dolores tirelessly led the fight for racial and labor justice, becoming one of the most defiant feminists of the twentieth century.
"Dolores Huerta is one of the great names of activism in the United States. Descendant of Mexican immigrants and a rural worker, Dolores was one of the protagonists of the grape strike in Delano, California, in 1965. The fact drew attention to the precarious conditions in which immigrants in that region were living - and which, later, even caught the attention of Senator and then presidential candidate Bobby Kennedy, who would be assassinated shortly thereafter. With initiatives of nonviolent civil disobedience, the activist achieved great victories for the poorest and workers, in addition to coining the phrase "sÃ, se puede", which decades later would be the basis of Barack Obama's campaign for president of the US. The documentary covers all these events, revealing details of Dolores' struggle from 1965 to 2002."
