In 1914 the heir to the throne of the Austro-Hungarian Empire was murdered in Sarajevo and his assassination triggered the horrors of World War I. But the story we know from history class is not complete. As in life, there is far more to the events of 28 June in Sarajevo than most history books teach and many people understand. Spies, intrigue, blackmail, and Imperial manipulation all play a part in this dramatic real life story that took place at the crossroads of the world. Was it merely a domino effect of chance, or was All the World a Stage for the orchestration of what became the first truly global conflict?
