It tells the true story of Arunachalam Muruganantham, an entrepreneur who invented a machine capable of producing sanitary pads at a fraction of the cost of traditional competitors. Known as "Padman" or "Menstrual Man", Muruganantham faced many difficulties to become a success, being elected by Time as one of the most influential people in the world in 2014. With the typical humor of Indian cinema, the movie takes some poetic license (like changing the protagonist's name), but it is an interesting cultural and entrepreneurial record."
