Why watch the movie Bob Trevino Likes It?
"Bob Trevino Likes It is one of those modest independent dramedies that are surprisingly funny, moving, and powerful, also based on true events. Inspired by director Tracie Laymon’s experiences, the film follows Lily Trevino (Euphoria's Barbie Ferreira), a young woman raised in neglect: abandoned by a drug-addicted mother as a child, she was left in the care of a self-centered and unwilling father, Bob Trevino (French Stewart). After a trivial argument, Lily tries to reconnect with him but accidentally connects on Facebook with another Bob Trevino (John Leguizamo). Together, they form an unexpected father-daughter bond that helps Lily grow and Bob heal an old wound. Bob Trevino Likes It may not be visually ambitious, but its honesty and emotional depth, fueled by an authentic script and Barbie Ferreira’s vulnerable performance, will surprise and move you."
