The Garden of Afflictions

"Olavo de Carvalho is one of the most controversial figures in politics and philosophy in Brazil, attracting both admirers and critics alike. Initially opposed to the Brazilian military regime and a communist militant, Carvalho has become one of the biggest critics of the left in the country. In this documentary, we get a glimpse of his current routine and thoughts from the protagonist. Although it does not innovate in its format and does not bring the contradiction in its interviews, 'The Garden of Afflictions' is the record of a thought stream that is growing in the country."
