After suffering a heart attack, a world famous, hard-drinking actor is forced to drive across country with his estranged son (who testified against him in his parent's divorce) on one last madcap adventure.
"There is a case of actors that are great even when reading the phone book. This is the case for Jeremy Irons in 'Surviving My Father' in which he plays a famous and macho actor who, after suffering from a heart attack, is forced to travel the country by car with his son, who is his total opposite. From then on, an unexpected road movie full of situations emerges. It's not a great story, with many cheesy situations, but it still gets a few good laughs - mainly thanks to Irons."
