Why watch the movie A Destruição de Bernardet?
"Jean-Claude Bernadet is a writer and one of the most important theorists and critics of Brazilian cinema, with dozens of books on the subject. However, already in his third age, Bernadet decided to venture into acting in modest experimental films, which, in the view of some, would be an unnecessary exposure, “destroying” what he produced as a theorist. This documentary goes right into this issue, revealing more about Bernadet's current life situation, talking about life, death and the fact of being HIV positive. The result is an unconventional film, made for those who like the meanders of Brazilian cinema."
