Just like the first part, the movie is a great homage to Stine's literature, which, like few others, has been able to produce horror stories with an adolescent appeal. With a large number of monsters, ghosts and terrifying creatures (and some not so terrifying ones), it's that movie to entertain the kids, without much commitment. In any case, it can serve as a great starting point to dive head first into the original material, i.e. the books that inspired the story."
