Why watch the movie Chavela?
"Nominated for two awards at the prestigious Berlin Film Festival, this intimate documentary focuses on Chavela Vargas' first interview in 1991, following nearly two decades lost in alcohol. With never-before-seen images and interviews with collaborators like the great filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar, 'Chavela' is a warm and melancholy look at a Mexican music legend and her loves, two realms where she was as pioneering as she was rebellious."
