Why watch the movie First Reformed?
"Directed by Paul Schrader (screenwriter of classics like 'Taxi Driver' and 'Raging Bull'), the movie has been running a lot through the festival circuit and was highly praised by critics. It tells the story of a Protestant pastor (played by Ethan Hawke, who is great), from a small church in the countryside of New York, who starts to face questions regarding his own faith, global warming and our role in the world. The result is an extremely current, painful and gloomy account that makes us reflect."
