A highly intelligent serial killer evolves over 12 years, in a script inspired by Dante Alighieri's 'Inferno'.
Trailer
Why watch this film?
The story follows Jack, a highly intelligent serial killer, over the course of twelve years, and depicts the murders that really develop his inner madman.
"Director Lars von Trier (of 'Melancholia' and 'Nymphomaniac') presents us with another controversial and shocking film. 'The House That Jack Built' tells the story of a serial killer over a 12 year period, making us enter his head and understand his motivations, his first murders and his evolution as a murderer - in a script inspired by Dante Alighieri's 'Inferno'. All of that gets new layers with Matt Dillon's (of 'Crash: At the Limit') incredible performance in the role of the protagonist. The cast also includes names such as Uma Thurman and Bruno Ganz (who even became a meme with his Hitler from 'The Downfall!'). It's a feature that divides opinions and which is not for everyone, so much so that more than 100 people left the Cannes Film Festival premiere - while those who stayed applauded and cheered for ten minutes after the end of the presentation. Ready to find out which team you're on?"
