Why watch the movie Black Coal, Thin Ice?
"In pure film noir style – complete with the necessary femme fatale – 'As Black As Coal' swept through film festivals across Asia, and won the Golden Bear for Best Picture at the Berlin Film Festival. Its stylized aesthetic that reconstructs China in the 90's, as well as its intriguing story and cruel hyper-violent images, make this a hard to swallow movie for many viewers, but intense and passionate if they can tolerate its brutality."
