Why watch the movie The Shining?
"An adaptation - albeit with many changes - of Stephen King's book, 'The Shining' is one of Stanley Kubrick's masterpieces, featuring a remarkable performance by Jack Nicholson. When it was released, the movie was not well understood, but over time it became a cult phenomenon and has remained frightening to this day. Warning: The version on HBO GO is the European one, about 25 minutes shorter. On other platforms the movie is in its longer version."
