The 18th century was in its prime. The Swedish King Gustav III had just come to power and the king was fascinated by a poet and singer named Carl Michael Bellman. Gustav III was so delighted that he tied Bellman closer to the court and gave him the right to produce and publish "Fredman's Epistles", which are perhaps the legacy of Bellman we know best. His rich output also includes "Old Man Noa" and "Butterfly winged on Haga".
