""Thunder Road" is an intense and highly personal drama-comedy, but its protagonist's problems are so universal and timely that it involves the viewer. All this written, directed and starred by Jim Cummings, prolific Hollywood professional who accumulates credits from actor (in "The Handsmaid's Tale") to assistant production of special effects (in "Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier"). It is the enlargement of a concept presented by Cummings in a 2016 short film, also called "Thunder Road" (in reference to Bruce Springsteen's music) and which was highly praised by critics. The feature-length version kept the good reception, winning the Jury Prize at SXSW 2018."
