Why watch the movie The Gleaners & I?
"Named one of the 100 best films of the 21st century by The New York Times, The Gleaners and I, by Agnès Varda, is a poetic, political, and profoundly human investigation into waste and reuse. Starting from the figure of the “gleaners” — those who collect what is left in fields and markets — Varda crafts an intimate portrait of an invisible France, weaving together stories of survival, creativity, and resilience. By including herself in the documentary, the director turns the act of gleaning into a metaphor for looking at the world with greater attention, sensitivity, and purpose."
