From a traumatic event that leaves one of the protagonists with amnesia, information about the hidden tragedy is gradually provided. This is an indigestible movie for one simple reason: we have a mature man in front of the camera who is suddenly stripped of the only thing that constitutes us as people, which is the complex structure of events we call memory. The director Ed Perkins' (nominated for an Oscar for his short documentary 'Black Sheep') ability to use a photography of lights and shadows as a metaphor for the men we see on screen must be applauded."
