After a young mother murders her family in her own house, a single mother and detective tries to investigate and solve the case. Later, she discovers the house is cursed by a vengeful ghost that dooms those who enter it with a violent death.

"According to the American remake of the Japanese classic 'The Grudge' (‘Ju-on’), the US version directed by Nicolas Pesce ('Mother's Eyes') bets on the idea that the curse of the Japanese house has ended up in the United States. The feature builds a parallel story to the 2004 feature film, guided by the investigation of Detective Muldoon (Andrea Riseborough, from 'Mandy'), who has just moved to a city where several inexplicable crimes have been occurring in recent years. Unfortunately, the movie fails to sustain the suspenseful atmosphere, becoming predictable and even boring in its jump-scares. Still, it remains a good option for those interested in the curse of the Japanese house - and especially for those who like the universe of 'The Grudge' and want to delve into it."
