The story revolves around the creation of a security program equipped with advanced artificial intelligence, called Ares (Jared Leto), which Dillinger Systems can manifest in reality and offer as the "perfect soldier." The problem is that a flaw in its code prevents it from existing in the physical world for more than 30 minutes, and the solution lies in a mythical "permanence code" discovered by Eve Kim (Greta Lee from Past Lives), the CEO of rival company ENCOM Systems. The film draws on complex concepts such as artificial intelligence and military technology but never delves deeply into them, offering a more sensory experience than a conceptual one. Like its predecessors, it is narratively sparse, but if you enjoy films that dazzle the eyes and ears—the Nine Inch Nails soundtrack is phenomenal—it could be for you.
