Unpacking the music and myth of a singular talent: the story of a jazz legend.
Trailer
Why watch the movie Miles Davis: Birth of the Cool?
"There are many reasons why Miles Davis has gone down in history for jazz and music in general. The story of 'Miles Davis: Birth of the Cool' focuses on two main points: Davis' huge musical influence during the second half of the 20th century, and his personal story which, in his best and worst moments, contributed to his legend as the example of what it means to be "cool". For connoisseurs, it won't be a particularly revealing documentary, as it fails to cover many topics throughout its two-hour duration. However, with the combination of archive photographs, unseen home movies and interviews with friends and colleagues (including the legendary Quincy Jones), it is a perfect introduction to the musician who left an indelible mark on jazz."
