Hugh Preston is a quite unfaithful famous BBC anchorman. On a Friday night, Hugh smartly bring his wife to confess that she also have a liaison. Surprised, Liz reveals that she is secretly dating John Brownlow, and that she meant to leave for Italy next Sunday without warning her husband. Hugh kindly propose to be charged responsible of all wrongs in the divorce, and to do so to be caught in adultery in one of the guest room with his secretary Miss Patricia Forsyth. He asks his wife to invite her lover for the week-end to settle the divorce and invite himself his secretary to complete his scheme.
