Mike Diamond and Adam Horovitz of Beastie Boys tell you an intimate, personal story of their band, and their 40 years of friendship together.
"Although the band dissolved in 2014 after the death of Adam "MCA" Yauch in 2012, the Beastie Boys have taken their place in history as one of the oldest and most popular hip hop groups of all time. 'Beastie Boys Story' - a self-explanatory title - brings together the two remaining members of the band, Michael "Mike D" Diamond and Adam "Ad-Rock" Horovitz, with Oscar-winning filmmaker Spike Jonze, who directed several of the band's videos in the past. The documentary, whose premiere at South by Southwest 2020 was suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic, goes back and forth between intimate scenes of the Beastie Boys and a contemporary performance in which Diamond and Horovitz share stories with the audience. It should be an emotional experience for the group's fans."
