The corpse of a famous film producer is found in the Tiber. The investigations focus on three peculiar young scriptwriters.
"The Italian cinema has already produced cinematic gems such as 'La Dolce Vita', 'Cinema Paradiso' and 'The Bicycle Thieves'. In 'Notti Magiche', the new film by director Paolo Virzì (from the interesting 'La Prima Cosa Bella'), there is a celebration of this past cinema and its classics. With a trio of slightly detestable characters who travel through the Italian cinema's backstage, it is possible to revive some of the magic and surprises that this art left in a distant time -- an experience similar to what 'Midnight in Paris' or 'Dilili in Paris' proposed, for example. Of course, those who have some admiration for classic Italian cinema and those who like to travel in these backstages that populate the imagination of cinephiles around the world will embark on the idea. Those who do not fit into either group should be bored, mainly due to the lack of empathy of the protagonists."
