Why watch the movie Free Angela and All Political Prisoners?
""Free Angela and All Political Prisoners" is a documentary directed by Shola Lynch about the figure of Angela Davis, an American socialist professor and philosopher who gained notoriety in the 1970s. At the time, she joined the Communist Party USA and the Black Panthers, fighting for women's rights and against social and racial discrimination in the United States. The film focuses on the period when Davis was hunted and wanted, considered one of the most dangerous people in the US. Thus, "Free Angela and All Political Prisoners" successfully mixes the activist's story with deeper roots of racism that still exists throughout the American territory. A profound, urgent, and necessary film to understand something that is still relevant today."
