Anne Hathaway's New Horror-Thriller Gets Massive Streaming Redemption After Making 15% Of Its Budget

Anne Hathaway's banner year continues as a horror-thriller is dominating streaming. After spending a few years in independent and streaming fare, the Oscar winner has enjoyed one of her biggest string of mainstream releases yet in 2026. From The Devil Wears Prada 2 grossing over double its original film's worldwide haul with $639 million at the box office to being part of Christopher Nolan's record-smashing The Odyssey, Hathaway has reaffirmed her A-list status on the big screen. One film, though, didn't see the same level of success on its original release, but is coming back in a big way. Written, directed and produced by David Lowery, Hathaway led Mother Maryas

Amazon's Fourth Wing show finally casts Violet and Xaden

Amazon’s adaptation of Rebecca Yarros’ bestselling romantasy book Fourth Wing has been in the works at Prime Video for years now, but today, it feels like we’re making some serious progress in the development. At long last, the castings for main characters Violet Sorrengail and Xaden Riorson have been reported, and I’m seriously loving these choices! As reported by Variety on Oct. 15, actors Esther McGregor and Emilio Sakraya will play the beloved enemies-to-lovers, Violet and Xaden, respectively. While both actors have been in several projects in their careers thus far, they’re still up-and-comers, a great choice for what’s bound to become a major TV franchise.

Netflix's Canceled 2-Part Fantasy Action Adaptation Finally Being Revived

Netflix has become notorious for canceling shows before they have the chance to find their footing, with many gaining passionate cult followings only after their official departure. Santa Clarita Diet, 1899, and Glow are among the favorites that have fallen. Few if any, however, have sparked a revival campaign quite like Warrior Nun. The Netflix action series premiered in 2020 and quickly cultivated a dedicated fanbase, earning a 92% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. Despite its growing following, Warrior Nun was brought to an end after two seasons, with high production costs, low viewership, and a lack of promotion working against it. After its cancellation, audiences demanded that the series continue. In 2023, hope

Warrior Nun: Canceled Netflix Fan-Favorite Could Be Making A Comeback In A Huge Way

For a time, it appeared Warrior Nun was destined to join a long list of cancelled Netflix series with a passionate fanbase unable to save it. However, there's now fresh hope that the franchise could make a surprise comeback, albeit not quite in the way fans might expect. A few years ago, there were rumblings about continuing the popular series through a trilogy of movies after Netflix cancelled it following its second season. Those movies didn't materialise, and that seemed to be the end of the story. Now, though, series creator Simon Barry is once again seeking to resurrect the franchise. Deadline (via SFFGazette.com) reports that Barry and his

Netflix's Cancelled Fantasy Franchise Is Officially Back From the Dead

Cancellation is a way of life for Netflix series. Many fan-favorites have been speedily renewed for a second season, only to be cut down afterward as one of the mega-streamer's cost-cutting measures. Now, however, one of the service's cult classics may be getting a second lease on life. Warrior Nun, based on the 1990s manga-styled comic book series Warrior Nun Areala by Ben Dunn, debuted on Netflix in 2020. It starred Alba Baptista as Ava Silva, a quadriplegic orphan who returns from the dead when a mystical artifact is embedded in her corpse. She soon learns that it was placed there by an ancient order of mystical nuns, who recruit her

‘Warrior Nun’ Creator Close To Securing Underlying Comic Rights, Plans Film & TV Universe

Exclusive: A few years ago there was hope among fans that the cancelled and popular Netflix series Warrior Nun was on the path to resuscitation via some movies. Then things went quiet. We can now reveal that things are looking up again. This isn’t for a straight rekindling of the Netflix show, but series creator Simon Barry and his Vancouver banner Reality Distortion Field (Rdf) are in final negotiations to license some of the underlying rights to the original comic book series and related IP, spanning more than 100 issues and specials. The plan remains to launch a film and TV universe off the back of that underlying IP. The negotiations are with Perfect Circle Productions, headed by Dean English, which holds the live-action adaptation rights to Warrior Nun Areala, the manga-style American comic book series created by Ben Dunn and published by Antarctic Press. Rdf, co-founded by showrunner Barry
