Hollywood icon and action movie superstar Jackie Chan returns for a sequel to his long-awaited action thriller comeback. And it’s a comeback that also happens to be a bona fide masterpiece and one of the Rush Hour star’s best movies in years. At 72 years old, the action movie legend has shown little sign of slowing down, and with filming having now wrapped on another follow-up of his, Chan is jumping right back into the fray. While Jackie Chan may have been leaning more towards comedic fare in recent years with the likes of the Panda Plan franchise and Unexpected Family, he proved he still very much has what

10 Most Rewatchable '90s Movies, Ranked

We may receive a commission on purchases made from links. There's a common sentiment among film fans today that we may never have it as good as we did in the '90s. The decade was a booming, exciting time for the industry, filled with blockbusters and cult classics born of a more adventurous business attitude at the major studios, taking risks on renegade new voices and ideas that pushed the medium and culture forward. They were the days when mid-budget adult dramas were still in vogue; when steamy thrillers were everywhere you looked; when the independent film boom, led by the likes of Quentin Tarantino and Steven Soderbergh, was

Dragon Ball: 7 Worst Games Of All Time, Ranked

I adore Dragon Ball, and I adore Dragon Ball games, but the franchise rarely rewards that love with quality. Any Dbz fan who grew up in the 90s or 2000s has poured time, sweat, and money into Goku's worst or most mediocre adventures, ones that don't come close to the quality of Raging Blast or Burst Limit, let alone Budokai or Xenoverse. Still, to appreciate the true greats like FighterZ and Budokai Tenkaichi 3, we also need to acknowledge the painful failures that came before and after them. Like most things, even the worst Dragon Ball games have a few positives, though they don't remotely make up for the negatives. We

27 Years Later, Mark Wahlberg's 110-Minute Action Thriller Scores New Release

Mark Wahlberg plays to his strengths in By Any Means, a gritty action thriller where he plays a real-life mafia hitman teamed up with an FBI agent to investigate the murders of civil rights leaders. The film flips the script for the actor, who has a track record of playing law enforcers in his previous work, including buddy comedies The Other Guys, 2 Guns, Spenser Confidential, and especially his first buddy-cop movie, which is getting a new release 27 years after its theatrical premiere. Wahlberg's career was off to a great start with standout roles in Renaissance Man, The Basketball Diaries, Boogie Nights, and The Big Hit, but it really took

7 R-Rated Action Movies That Are 10/10, No Notes

There’s more to an R-rated action flick than intense violence or brutal fight choreography. Although most R-rated genre films indulge in graphic violence, this rating primarily accommodates a mature story with nuanced characters. Take James Cameron’s Aliens(1986), which develops Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) into a more complex protagonist who takes a more proactive role to protect a child. This shift leads to more action set-pieces, shifting the tone of the Alien franchise from a gnarly space horror to an action-filled blockbuster. Great action movies also have stakes that feel real. They break genre conventions, use fights to flesh out characters, and balance out frenetic action with quieter moments.
