Desmond Llewelyn was an actor who trained at the Royal Academy for the Dramatic Arts in the mid 1930s. After his acting career was halted by World War II, he returned to London and revived his career, eventually being cast as his trademark Q in From Russia with Love (1963). Why Denis Villeneuve’s James Bond Must Continue Daniel Craig’s ‘Sacrilegious’ 007 Trend

Fans became accustomed to Q being much older than 007 in the James Bond films, that is, until Skyfall came around and flipped the script. After Peter Burton, Desmond Llewelyn, and John Cleese, it was time for Ben Whishaw to take over the mantle of the brilliant quartermaster. For decades, the franchise operated on an unspoken rulebook. While speaking to Today, Van Dyke recalled being asked by Barbara Broccoli to take on the role of the British superspy for the 1969 movie, On Her Majesty's Secret Service. Coming just five years after his appearance as an English chimney sweep, street artist, and general “ol’ mucker of London Town,” it was

James Bond Spin-Off Reveals An Unexpected Romance Between Two Major 007 Characters

We may receive a commission on purchases made from links. James Bond has had so many lovers, it's almost comedic. James Bond, as depicted throughout twenty-some feature films, is a notorious womanizer, able to seduce enemy spies with a flick of his eyebrow. 007 was so notoriously oversexed that it became the central plot point of the 1967 spoof version of "Casino Royale"; MI6 agents had to undergo special training to resist sexual temptation. A few of Bond's conquests even became short-term girlfriends or, in one case, a wife. Sadly, Bond never hooked up with the flirtatious Miss Moneypenny, famously played by Lois Maxwell from 1962 to 1985. No, Bond's romantic and sexual life
